Estate Planning

Have you considered your legacy?

Your legacy is much more than your assets. It’s your personal values, the memories that carry on and your entire belief system. Your estate plan should be a reflection of the legacy you want to leave.

Risk Management

Our advisors will help you align your estate plan with your financial plan, which includes beneficiary reviews, creating a will or trust, regular updates and reviews, and more. We’ll help you address commonly overlooked items that can create significant risks and complications for your loved ones.

We’ll Help You Consider:

Medical Power of Attorney

Who can doctors discuss your medical information with?

Durable Power of Attorney

If you're incapacitated, who should be able to direct your assets without court approval?

Living Will

What will happen if you’re unable to make your own medical decisions?

Special Needs Trusts

If you have a loved one with special needs, how can you pass assets to them without jeopardizing government benefits?

Second Marriages

Do your beneficiaries align with your wishes, including your former spouse or children from prior relationships?

Blended Families

Does your estate plan include your stepchildren?

Nontraditional Families

Does your estate plan protect your significant other or other family members?

Creditor Protection

Are the assets in your estate protected from your beneficiaries’ creditors?

Dementia

Does your estate plan, medical power of attorney or trust include the possibility of dementia?

Legacy Planning

Your advisor is here to help you understand how your assets will be distributed under your current estate plan and existing tax laws. We work with our in-house team of estate planning specialists, attorneys, CPAs, and any of your outside professionals to formalize your wishes. We want to help minimize your estate’s administrative burden and maximize the value distributed to your loved ones and the organizations you cherish.

Trust Services

Wills and trusts are a vital component of estate planning. They are legal instructions of where your assets should go when you’ve passed on. As part of your estate plan, we’ll help you develop a will or trust to fit your needs. One of the most important decisions in this process is who to name as trustee.

Even the best drafted document will fail to meet your goals if the trustee selected fails to carry out their role properly. You’ve worked hard to pursue your financial goals and your family deserves the counsel of an objective professional with proven expertise.

Selecting a Trustee

Gold Family Wealth’s partnership with Carson provides access to Private Trust Services. Private Trust Services integrates seamlessly with your trusted financial advisor to provide corporate trustee services for you and your loved ones. There is no need to change your advisor, investment philosophy, asset management style or portfolio holdings. Private Trust Services will perform fiduciary trust administration duties in accordance with your trust document while your investment advisor will manage the investments.
